In 18 Days, Rouge One Became The Second Highest Grossing Film Of 2016
In just 18 days, “Rouge One: A Star Wars Story” became the second highest grossing film of 2016 behind “Finding Dory.”
In 2016, there were movies that made a lot of money from “Captain America: Civil War” to “Sing.” Although Disney’s “Finding Dory” made $486 million, leading all domestic sales. It took about six months to get to that amount. But the new Star Wars movie was close to that amount at $439.7 million. It’s amazing to see a movie, which was released in the month of December, quickly eclipsed these numbers.
Rouge One made more noise in less than a month than other ones did to achieve that amount. Perhaps the appearance of Darth Vader drawn in fans to see this movie. Heading into 2017, it starts fresh with new numbers. But it’s a terrific milestone being accomplished by the Star Wars family. Check out a clip below if it’s still worth the tickets thanks to the numbers provided by Box Office Mojo.
