Scientists at Tel Aviv University’s Department of Biotechnology, Materials Science and Engineering and others gifted everyone with a cyber heart patch that can save lives in the future.
“With this heart patch, we have integrated electronics and living tissue,” said professor Tal Dvir, one of the patch’s inventors according to Digital Trends. “It’s very science fiction, but it’s already here, and we expect it to move cardiac research forward in a big way. Until now, we could only engineer organic cardiac tissue, with mixed results. Now we have produced viable bionic tissue, which ensures that the heart tissue will function properly.”
This patch can replace the dying or dead muscle of the heart. Since the heart pumps blood to help out the other parts of the body, it’s important to have it strong. It contracts the cardiac muscle and lets the electronics component detect when the medication is in order. The technology aspect of the world is growing everyday. Humans are getting closer organ by organ of being at least half cyborg.
