A&E Network announced the biography series on Tupac Shakur and The Notorious B.I.G., which premieres in June during the summer.

On Wednesday, June 28 at 9PM, they will show “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.,” which is a three-hour deeply personal biography directed by Mark Ford. Christopher Wallace, Biggie Smalls real name, will narrate his own life story showing exclusive archival footage and audio recordings that has never been heard before, and new interviews of those that really love him.

Only two hours will show on Wednesday with the final hour airing on Thursday, June 29 at 8. After the documentary, it directly follows up to “Who Killed Tupac“?, which is a six-hour limited series produced by Renegade 83 that focuses on the investigation, 20 years after the death of Tupac. This investigation is conducted by Benjamin Crump, who is a civil rights attorney that also represented the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Tamir Rice and other victims of gun violence.

“The late Christopher Wallace and Tupac Shakur continue to impact the world two decades after their tragic, unsolved murders and there is still a public longing to connect with these figures and to celebrate their legacies,” said Elaine Frontain Bryant, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming, A&E Network. “We pride ourselves in delivering projects under the ‘Biography’ banner that unearth a side of the story that the public has never seen before.  In the case of “Biggie: The Life of Notorious B.I.G.,” the foundation of this biography is exclusive archival footage and audio recordings of Biggie himself, packaged in a way that allows him to tell his own life story as if its present day and we are truly excited to be able to bring that kind of intimacy and connection to his fans.”

These two icons are what if artists that would have made a much bigger impact on today’s hip-hop world than they are now. Fans still listen to their great music and hopefully those will also watch these biographies to know more about their work and personal life.
