Aimee Song And Natalie Lim Suarez Appeared In Spring 2017 RTW Fashion Show
Though they have been in front of the camera for years, fashion bloggers Aimee Song of Song of Style and Natalie Lim Suarez of Natalie Off Duty were two of the few unlikely models in Rebecca Minkoff’s Spring 2017 RTW fashion show.
On February 4th, Rebecca Minkoff hosted her spring 2017 RTW fashion show at the Grove in Los Angeles, California. She felt that this season’s designs resonated more with the Californian spirit than with New York’s classic runway.
Her show was all about female empowerment, as she featured many influential women to walk amongst professional models. One notable figure was Aimee Song, who opened and closed the show. She is a Korean American fashion blogger who has amassed 4.3 million followers on Instagram alone and was listed in Forbes 30 under 30. She is also a New York Times Bestselling Author of Capture Your Style. Although it was her first modeling gig, her years of posing for her blog paid off.
Model turned blogger Natalie Lim Suarez also walked on the Grove’s trolley path. Proudly representing her diverse ethnicity of ½ Chinese, ¼ Spanish, and ¼ Mexican, Suarez has been modeling since the age of 15 for brands like COACH, Levis, and Saks 5th Avenue.
Actress Jamie Chung and fashion blogger Chriselle Lim were also featured on the show. Other models who walked included Alanna Arrington, Ariela Soares, and Sofia Sanoh.
This display of diversity, from messages such as “I’m A Woman, Hear Me Roar” printed on handbags to her choices in model selection, goes hand in hand with Minkoff’s beliefs in inclusion and empowerment.
