It’s official guys, Alexander Wang will be leaving as Balenciaga creative director. The designer who has made a huge name for himself with his own line will not renew his contract. This October will be his last collection with the french house. The news was officially announced by Kering, who owns the luxury brand. Kering has yet to announce who will be Wang’s successor. Alexander Wang reasons for leaving is to focus on his own label. Upon leaving the french house, Wang left a statement:
“It’s been an incredible experience to work with a couture house in Paris. I am honored to have had the opportunity to work for this historical maison. I would like to thank the brilliant team at Balenciaga for their collaboration and for what we have accomplished together, and I am looking forward to taking my own brand to its next level of growth.”
We can’t wait to see what Wang has in stored for his own line.
