Notorious for her online spats and controversy-stirring comments, Azealia Banks rocked the stage at Coachella, taking the attention away from the drama in favor for the music said Billboard.
The 23 year old was a crowd favorite on the first day of the California desert music festival with other Friday performers, hard rockers AC/DC and Interpol said Business Insider. During her 45 minutes set, she performed songs from her newest album Broke With Expensive Taste and her 1991 EP. She performed singles Heavy Metal and Reflective, Ice Princess and Chasing Time but the show stopper was the break up song Yung Rapunxel where she started screaming into a megaphone. She closed her performance with a riveting “212,” her sexually and racially charged song in which Banks snatches a woman from a man whose sexuality she proceeds to mock said Business Insider.
Banks has persistently been in the news for her feuds with other celebrities via Twitter, most notably Iggy Azalea, by making accusations of her exploiting African-American culture and telling Playboy magazine about her hatred for “fat white Americans”.
I’m not here to be your idol, she said in a cover story for Billboard, because I’m probably going to do some f***ed up shit
Aside from all the drama surrounding her lately, Azealia Banks has proven she is a talent and a force to be reckoned with.
