To celebrate the one-year anniversary of Lemonade, Beyoncé has announced the Formation Scholarship program for young woman studying creative arts, music, literature, or African-American studies for the 2017-2018 academic year.
The four “Formation Scholars” awards aim to “encourage and support young women who are unafraid to think outside the box and are bold, creative, conscious and confident,” a statement reads. The participating colleges are Berklee College of Music, Howard University, Parsons School of Design, and Spelman College.
America’s favorite former first lady, Michelle Obama, even took to twitter shouting out Beyonce for contributions in pushing women to higher levels.
