It’s quite ironic that both Chris Brown and Rihanna are working on documentaries at the exact same time.
Today, a trailer from “Welcome to My Life” shows Chris Brown in a very dark place detailing the R&B singer’s tumultuous past, his resistance to fame and of course the downward spiral that some say ensued before and after the much publicized assault situation with Rihanna. The singer claims he felt like a monster and even considered suicide. Directed by Andrew Sandler, the documentary is said to also feature a few celebrity appearances from his peers and musical mentors.
Last week, it was revealed that Rihanna is heading back to the big screen with Peter Berg at the helm of a theatrical feature on the Barbadian star set to feature an unfiltered look at her life and rise to superstardom. It was also announced that the Rihanna doc would not be a concert movie as fans may be expecting. There’s no official release date, but Rihanna’s turn in front of the camera as a film subject should be a unique inside view of who she really is.

No word on an official release date for either projects, but it’s interesting to know that soon both sides of their stories and careers will be displayed.
