Here you have it, ladies and gentlemen. Bernie Sanders has officially endorsed Hillary Clinton at a New Hampshire rally, saying that she is “far and away the best candidate” to deal with the various worrisome troubles the government must contend with. “This campaign is not really about Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump or Bernie Sanders. This campaign is about the needs of the American people and addressing the very serious crises that we face,” Sanders said.
While Sanders has not yet conceded in the race due to procedures in regards to the Democratic National Convention, this is still a bittersweet end to what was a very hopeful and passionate run for Sanders. Sanders had the full support of a wide majority of millennials, with whom Clinton has yet to fully impress. Perhaps this endorsement will help bridge the gap between millennials and Clinton. Sanders did make it very clear: “She will be the Democratic nominee for president, and I intend to do everything I can to make certain she will be the next president of the United States.” And so now we have unity in the Democratic Party- which is more than one can say about the Republican Party, as Donald Trump’s peers still have yet to endorse him (if they will at all).
Speaking of Mr. Trump, he tweeted his reaction to the endorsement in his usual way: “Bernie Sanders , who has lost most of his leverage, has totally sold out to Crooked Hillary Clinton. He will endorse her today – fans angry!” Trump then proceeded to tweet a slew of more reactions, including a welcome to any Bernie supporters that would now travel to the Trump side of the stage.
Stay tuned for more developments.
