Quarterback Matthew Hasselbeck announced his retirement in the NFL after playing 18 years. He will join ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown and Monday Night Countdown this fall as an NFL analyst.
At 40 years old, Hasselbeck has been a Cinderella story with the Indianapolis Colts. When Andrew Luck was out for the season, Hasselbeck step in as the starting quarterback. He went 5-3 with nine touchdowns. In his career, he finished with 212 touchdowns and 153 interceptions in 209 games with the Packers, Seahawks, Titans and Colts. Hasselbeck as a journeyman quarterback made the best out of it in his last season. Now the Colts search for their next backup to Luck and hope to contend for the AFC South.
