Desiigner’s ‘Panda’ Reaches #1 on Billboard 100; Becomes 1st NY Artist to reach feat since Jay Z
Bed-Stuy based artist Desiigner’s single ‘Panda’ reached an astonishing feat this week on Billboard, quickly climbing the charts top #1. 2016 has become his breakout year following the release of ‘Panda’, inking a deal with new president of G.O.O.D Music Pusha T, featuring on ‘Father Stretch My Hands’ & ‘Freestyle 4’ Kanye’s latest album ‘The Life of Pablo’. With this milestone, Desiigner is also noted as the only New York artist to reach the top of Billboard since Jay Z in 2009 with ‘Empire State of Mind’ on Blueprint 3. Many comparisons contributed to Desiigner’s rap ability in comparison to Future’s can now be put on halt because not even Future given his 3 #1 albums in the last year, can say he has reached further than #21 on Billboard. It also makes Desiigner the youngest artist to chart a #1 single since Lorde’s ‘Royals’ in 2013.
