Drake Announced ‘Summer Sixteen’ Tour With Future; Artwork For ‘VIEWS’
— Drizzy (@Drake) April 25, 2016
With the conclusion of his ‘Views’ pop-up shop in select cities, Drake announced that Future will be added to his ‘Summer Sixteen’ Tour. This doesn’t come as a surprise given the relationship between both artists, their work ethic and collaborations on multiple projects, specifically ‘What A Time To Be Alive’ released last September. Both Drake and Future are in the prime of their careers, so the move of adding Future to the tour could spark a historic run of classics and maybe even the debut of new material altogether from the two.
Drake delayed his bi-weekly OVO Sound radio show last Saturday to prepare for the final packaging of his forthcoming album but released the artwork for ‘VIEWS’ on Twitter for the masses leading up to the actual drop on Friday.
As fans anxiously await ‘VIEWS’ which is due April 29th, this could very well be Drake’s most important album because of the recent events surrounding feuds with Meek Mill, Toronto natives Tory Lanez & Moe G and now ex-OVO signee iLoveMakonnen. However, those obstacles have yet to force Drake into a corner as he continues to steamroll through the year with a bevy of Top 10 Billboard hits in Work, One Dance, Pop Style and Summer Sixteen. Drake & Future’s reign atop the Hip-Hop hierarchy has yet to be challenged with a legitimate threat boasting 4 #1 albums between them within the last year, so it’s not outlandish to consider setting in stone that number will soon change to five or six by the year’s end.
