As Dwyane Wade made a step-back jumper and sealed both free throws, he finished the night with 32 points and 6 assists as they top the Portland Trail Blazers 108-104 according to NBA.com.
This win marks Wade’s seventh 25 point game as he continues to play at a high level. He is averaging 21.8 points, 5.2 assists and 3.7 rebounds. The loss of Chris Bosh affected the team over a stretch of time until they traded for Goran Dragic from the Suns. Wade and Dragic combined for 52 points and 17 assists against the Blazers.
Wade leads the league in fourth quarter scoring averaging 7.3 points. There are nights when Wade can’t do it all to win the game, but he scored 15 out of the 32 points in the fourth quarter to move the Heat to 7th place in the Eastern Conference.
This is what I love to do,” Wade said. “This is the fun part of this game. I mean, obviously the last couple years I had to do what I had to do for that team. But now for this team I get to be a little bit back to my usual self, having the ball. I’m not going to do it right every time, but I like my chances most nights.
It’s unquestionable that with a healthy Dwyane Wade the Heat can make noise in the playoffs. If the season ended today they would face LeBron and the Cavaliers in the first round. No question Wade play’s his best against James and it would be shocking if the Heat upset the Cavs.
Only a few games left in the season and Wade turning back the clock at the right time gives Miami hope in the playoffs.
