Five years waiting and Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao stood face to face on Wednesday at Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles to officially countdown the fight until May 2 according to Yahoo News.
Both Boxers are in their career heading into the fight. At age 38 Floyd Mayweather has 47 wins and 26 KO’s as he is only undefeated boxer in the world. At 38 Manny Pacquiao has 57 wins, 38 KO’s and loss 5 times. Mayweather exchanged words in the news conference about the fans not missing this fight and working hard against Pacquiao.
“This is a fight that the world can’t miss,” Mayweather said from his podium. “I’m in the gym working right now, … pushing myself to the limit because I never wanted to win a fight so bad in my life.”
Fans and non-fans of boxing have been waiting for this fight. Each boxer presents different set of skills. Mayweather is the magician with his counter attacks. Pacquiao presents speed and power from his punches as a dangerous foe against any opponent. Pacquiao hopes to make all fans happy when the fight is on.
“This is what you are waiting for since five years ago,” said Pacquiao, who has held world titles in eight different weight divisions. “The fight is on and we’re very excited … we will do our best on May 2 to make you happy.”
Pacquaio’s trainer Freddie Roach believes Manny can win against Floyd because he slowed down. Mayweather is in his late prime and Pacquaio is at his prime. The fight will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and it will be highest gross fight in boxing history. Both fighters are training hard and only one win it.
“For me to be in the biggest fight in boxing history … I kept my fingers crossed and here we are today,” said Mayweather.
