Cymbal, considered the Instagram of music, is a new music app that combines social media with music streaming. The app mimics Instagram with personal profiles, likes, followers, hashtags, and comments and allows users to share their favorite song of the moment. The app shows song your friends are listening to and allows you to make playlist based off your friend’s favorite tunes.
Cymbal was created by developers Gabe Jacobs and Amadou Crookes with designer Mario Gomez-hall, students of Tufts University. Since its release this summer, the app already has over 17,000 downloads securing over a million dollars in financing which has valued the company at around $6M.
