Businessman, entrepreneur, producer, artist, rapper, hip hop mogul. Diddy is all of the above, but he’s reportedly ready to devote all of his time and energy to the big screen.
In a recent conversation with Complex, Diddy officially announced he’s returning to acting stating, “I’m going to put out my last album and devote 100 percent of my time to doing films.”
It might be the perfect time in his career to do so. However, before he tries to conquer Hollywood once and for all following in the footsteps of other hip hop legends turned movie stars like LL Cool J and Will Smith, Diddy’s going out with a bang. There’s his next album No Way Out 2 and the upcoming reunion concert and tour with the Bad Boy Records family launching this month in honor of the late Notorious B.I.G.
It might also be the perfect time for Diddy to focus on his acting after he recently announced he’d landed a deal for his son young Christian “King” Combs.
Diddy was first bitten by the acting bug back in 2001 when he landed a small, but important role in Monster’s Ball, the same film for which his co-star Halle Berry won her ground-breaking Academy Award. Diddy later joined the 2008 TV adapation of the revered A Raisin in the Sun alongside actress Phylicia Rashad, Sanaa Lathan and Audra McDonald. Diddy also served as producer for the film which snagged 12.7 million viewers and landed in the top ten viewed TV productions the week of its premiere.
Whether he’s active on camera or behind the scenes in Hollywood, we’re sure Diddy will make his presence known. Do you think this is a good move for him? Read more about how Diddy plans to execute this career move.
