This might be it, guys. Frank Ocean very well may be releasing his long awaited album, Boys Don’t Cry, this Friday through Apple Music, according to the New York Times. Hopefully he doesn’t play us… again.
Early Monday we were treated to quite the uneventful yet mysterious Apple Music-hosted livestream, courtesy of the singer; the video featured a lot of looping and, strangely enough, woodcutting. Maybe this has something to do with the album but only time will tell. Perhaps it only served as a teaser for what is to come.
The Apple Music release will last for two weeks, so non-Apple music users will have to unfortunately wait a little longer to listen to what is assuredly going to be one of the best albums of the year. But there’s more! According to the Times, we will be getting a “printed publication” called Boys Don’t Cry, as well as a “major video.” The clock is ticking. Friday will soon be here.
