New York Jets’ Ryan Fitzpatrick named the AFC offensive player of the week. He had three touchdowns for 263 yards, adding 23 rushing yards on three carries in the win against the Tennessee Titans.
Fitzpatrick becomes the second Jets player in a row to win the award. Last week Brandon Marshall won the award on a 12-catch, 131 yard game and a touchdown against the New York Giants. It’s not surprise that once Fitzpatrick trimmed his beard, he looked like a different quarterback. In three straight wins, he has nine touchdowns with zero interceptions. He continues to push the team in the right direction as they fight for the wild card spot. He hopes to come back with the team depending on how the season ends.
I think at the end of the year, maybe that’s stuff that you look at or think about it,” Fitzpatrick said according to the Associated Press. ”But right now, it’s how do we score on the opening drive versus Dallas (on Saturday)? That’s all of my focus right now and then you can just kind of go from there.
Jets play on the road against the Dallas Cowboys Saturday Night at eight.
