We’re excited and honored to have Jeff Staple, Founder of Staple Design & Reed Space, here for an intimate conversation.
Moderated by: Aimara Rodriguez (of AlleyNYC) and De’Von Johnson (of Bleu Magazine)
Hosted by: Chris Sandford (of Bleu Magazine)
Staple Design is a visual communications agency based in New York City and founded in 1997. It has three main divisions: a clothing collection, a creative agency and a retail store. Staple is a full lifestyle menswear collection and is distributed globally. Staple mixes street-minded sensibilities with mature sophisticated nods to high-end fashion. Staple Design Studio is a creative consulting firm that has worked with many brands including Nike, Microsoft, Sony, Lotus, Timberland, New Balance, LVMH and others. Staple Design also owns and operates Reed Space in the Lower East Side of New York City.
Jeff is both a veteran and a tastemaker of street-wear culture. Jeff’s work has been able to define and evolve the game simultaneously. In an industry that has constantly shifted and welcomed newcomers, he has proven to be an established standout. It would be easy to go on and on about his influence, but we choose not to. Instead, a word to the wise: Let the wise speak.
During this conversation and Q&A, we’ll talk about:
- The evolution of street-wear and the inception of the Staple brand
- What defines and drives Jeff’s design process
- Jeff’s key components for entrepreneurship, life, and building a brand
- How Jeff has cultivated his own path within multiple industries
