Kanye West Not Satisfied with Two Grammy Nominations for ‘Yeezus’
Kanye West isn’t afraid to let people know how he feels.
Quite frankly, the 36-year-old rapper is not happy with The Recording Academy. During his concert at the US Airways Center in Phoenix, West got on his soapbox to vent to his fans about the lack of Grammy nominations his No. 1 album, Yeezus, received this year.
Perhaps two Grammy nominations aren’t enough for West. “Yeezus is the top one or two album on every single list, but only gets two nominations from the Grammys,” he said. “What are they trying to say?”
He went on to pulling the race card. “I’ve never won a Grammy against a white artist,” he said to the crowd.
West was recently nominated for Best Rap Album (Yeezus) and Best Rap Song (“New Slave”).
As if West actually needs anymore Grammys. The “Heartless” rapper has been nominated for 53 Grammys and won a total of 21.
In other news, West is reportedly working on his seventh studio album with Q-Tip and Rick Rubin. “I haven’t named my next album, but I have started on it,” he said in an interview with Power 99 in Philadelphia. “I write down philosophies all the time, so I’ll just have some thoughts and I just constantly, every time I think of it, I write it. I’m just collecting. I’m just constantly working.”
