New York Knicks, Carmelo Anthony scored 29 points with 13 rebounds in the win against the New Orleans Pelicans 95-87.
Knicks won with not only Melo leading the way, but others on the team contributing. Langston Galloway and Kristaps Porzingis combined for 25 points, but Kevin Seraphin also stepped up. Kevin was signed by the Knicks in the offseason and from the looks of it that was not a bad decision by the organization. He contributes great energy and toughness for the team.
Seraphin is a player born in France. After the tragic incident in France Friday night affected the world, He shaved “PARIS” on the back of his hair for support. He had 10 points and seven rebounds in 14 minutes, which helped the team secure a win to end a two game losing streak.
“(Seraphin) gets the game ball,” Anthony said according to Fox Sports. “He deserved it. He was ready. He was a big part of our run that we made in the second half. To see him, and what he’s dealing with emotionally and mentally, be prepared today when his number was called was big.”
Seraphin had confidence from the star of the team. Winning games like this early in the season can elevate the Knicks into a favorable schedule after November. They have a slightly easier schedule in December than November. They need Melo to play well in tight games and have Porzingis continue to gain experience if they want to sneak in for the playoffs.
The Knicks play the Charlotte Bobcats on Tuesday at 7:3o in Madison Square Garden.
