The New York Knicks didn’t do much on the first day of free agency, but signed veteran shooting guard Arron Afflalo for two years and 16 million dollars according to the Associated Press.
NBA deals cannot officially happen until July 9, but talks can happen. Afflalo played with Carmelo Anthony for two seasons in Denver. In his career he is averaging 11.4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. He is also an above average defender in what the Knicks need due to their poor perimeter defense last season. It may not be a sexy or big name move for the team, but it is the step in the right direction under President Phil Jackson.
