LeBron James Delivered Cleveland The First NBA Title Of The Franchise Over Golden State!!!
LeBron James did the impossible in the NBA Finals coming back 3-1 down against the Golden State Warriors, delivering Cleveland the first NBA title of the franchise, ending a championship drought in his hometown since 1964.
“I’ve had the goal for two years since I came back to bring a championship to the city,” said an emotional James, who returned to the Cavaliers in 2014 after a four-year stint with Miami that included a pair of NBA championships according to Fox Business. “I gave it everything that I had. I poured my heart, my blood, my sweat and my tears into this game.”
When the final buzzer sounded at the end of the 4th quarter, emotions were all over the Cavalier players. James on the floor crying of happiness, Kyrie Irving screaming joy with his assistant coaches and everyone else hugging each other for winning a title. Everyone knows how hard it takes to win a championship, regardless of who the opponent is. The franchise that was a laughing stock in the league now knew the excitement of being part of history.
James had a triple-double in the winning along with Irving scoring 26 points, nailing a clutch three in the final seconds of the game over Stephen Curry, who didn’t play like an unanimous MVP. It was a special moment for everyone including JR Smith, who cried in the press conference after game on how much his parents helped him become the player he is and winning a championship.
The Warriors now head into the offseason with disappointment, not winning a championship and being part of other historic teams in sports falling short. The regular season suddenly becomes a distant memory if it doesn’t result in a title.
For the Cavaliers, the city’s now full of joy for many years to come. James doesn’t have pressure anymore and can decide on what to do next in his NBA career, and no one wouldn’t care as he also cemented his legacy as a top 5 all-time great player.
