Meek Mills might be one of the hardest working rappers in the game right now. You might not be fan of his rapping style or music, but you cannot deny his hustle. Since bursting on the scene in 2011 with MMG, he has consistently put out music with his rapid fire pace of rhyming. Last week he released the third installment of his Dreamchasers series and his first tape since the release of his debut album “Dreams and Nightmares”. The mixtape features a lot of big names such as Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, Jadakiss, Future and more. This is the drawback of the tape, where out of the 16 tracks, ten feature guest appearances. But do not doubt that Meeks skills have slipped. The album kicks off with the intro ‘Im Leanin” where Mills is joined by Travis Scott and plenty of braggadocios and sh*t talking from Birdman and Diddy. As said before, the album is featured with many guest appearances, but a standout verse from Jadakiss on track ‘Heaven or Hell’ makes the others feels like they were not needed. In the midst of all the tracks, Mills makes sure to pay homage to his fallen 18-year-old protégé Lil Snupe, who was killed earlier this year. An almost 4 minute skit of Lil Snupe rapping shows what could have been for the rising star. It is followed by the track ‘Lil N*gga Snupe’ where Mills remembers his friend and explains why his murder makes him feel he needs to protect himself. On songs such as ‘Hip Hop, where he is by himself, they show Mills true talent.
