It looks like another person is taken from the earth yet again as professional MMA fighter Kimbo Slice dies at age 42.
“We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family,” Bellator president Scott Coker said in a statement, calling Slice “a charismatic, larger-than-life personality that transcended the sport according to ESPN.”
“Outside of the cage he was a friendly, gentle giant and a devoted family man. “His loss leaves us all with extremely heavy hearts, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Ferguson family and all of Kimbo’s friends, fans, and teammates.”
Very surprised to see an MMA fighter die in his 40s. Although the sport isn’t exactly as brutal as two boxers going at each other for two rounds, some of the effects can wear down a fighter. Some rumors are speculating his death due to a heart attack. This wouldn’t be a surprise if it’s based on the amount of supplements or physical pain taken throughout his career.
The world loss a true professional to the sport, and hopefully it won’t happen to the current fighters.
