New Music: Kingpen Slim ‘No Talkin’

DC Native, Kingpen Slim is setting himself aside from the rest, as he drops two new bangers back-to-back off his upcoming Life After Doubt release.

“No Talkin,” produced by Mark Henry (Wale, Fabolous) shows the rap phenom spitting endless quotables over a high energy beat that you could easily hear in the clubs or in the gym while you try to muster the strength to get through your last set. The track also touches on being anti-social, in a sense of not always telling your business, or just simply talking too much. Handle your business in silence. “If you knew better, you would do better,” the rapper says.

“Thank God” gets an assist on the boards from Osinachi (Tinashe, B.o.B.) and finds Slim recalling the perils of his past while thanking God for helping to see him through them all. If this is an indicator of what’s in-store for ‘Life After Doubt,’ scheduled for a late Spring release, then you’re definitely in for a real treat.
