Only a weekend filled with football can’t be completed without talking about the New York teams, which in this case is horrendous. The New York Jets and Giants both suffered disappointing losses in which they’re slowly becoming irrelevant due to their records.
Here what most average fans need to know about the New York football teams, who are making New York sports fans sad after Week 5.
New York Giants (2-3)
Going into week three, the Giants had a chance to be 3-0 in the NFL east division. Unfortunately countless turnovers and bad Eli Manning making critical mistakes cost them a win against the Washington Redskins. Then came the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers, who had solid defensive performances, but a slow offense. The drama of Odell Beckham Jr. keeps on rising. And coaches who are just tired of talking about it. Still the Giants are now in the bottom of the NFC East. With an easy schedule, they should be at 3-2. But they are who they are being 2-3. Let see if they can somehow get one win, maybe the city won’t make them irrelevant in such an early NFL season.
New York Jets (1-4)
Everyone came into the season thinking the Jets will be better than they were last season. That ship definitely sailed after another loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers. These Jets aren’t playing well offensively and defensively. Ryan Fitzpatrick either throws a lot of picks or throws short passes to Brandon Marshall, who continues to have up and down games. The secondary of the defense is horrendous, can’t stop big plays even with a healthy Darrelle Revis. And in most games, they look out-coached. Nothing seems to work under coach Todd Bowles, who continues to take the blame on all these losses as he should. The Jets have an important game next week against the Arizona Cardinals. Win that game and maybe a streak happens. If not, the season is over.
