Last month, we learned that Nike would be collaborating with Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director, Kim Jones, and now the first sneakers from the project have been officially unveiled.
For this collaboration, Jones redesigned the Nike Air Zoom LWP from 1995. Here, Jones gives the groundbreaking sneaker a modern update, but also keeps things familiar by using the last of the Air Max 1, one of his favorite Nikes.
When speaking about the updated design, Jones said “I like the fact that it has come from an old shoe but has become a completely new shoe. It took quite a few tries to get it right. At first it was too chunky and then it was too skinny. I was thinking about a shoe that I would really like to wear and be proud of.”
The NikeLab X Kim Jones drops online and in-stores on July 23rd
