UNC Tar Heels unveils new Jordan Brand uniforms at its annual “Meet The Tar Heels” fan event for the 2017 college football season.
“I’m so excited about bringing UNC football into the Jordan,” said a hoarse Tar Heels coach Larry Fedora, according to SportingNews. “It doesn’t get any better than that, really. If you think about it, I promise you, when our guys run out of that tunnell onto that field, wearing that Jumpman logo, they’re gonna be jacked. Wearing that Jordan brand on your chest is like wearing a badge of honor. It’s a sign of greatness. It demands 100 percent effort.”
Besides Michigan, the Tar Heels are the second major college football program to use this iconic brand, which is a surprise considering how famous Michael Jordan is at the school. He’s the most recognizable alum in school history and adding his brand to the jerseys just makes them more special. They will also add the Jumpman logo on their practice helmets. Another addition to the jerseys is giving them six different types of cleats, all specifically designed for performance needs of each position group.
