New York Jets’ Brandon Marshall on First Take wants Ryan Fitzpatrick as his quarterback, not Colin Kaepernick.
There were reports yesterday evening on Kapernick wanting out of the San Francisco 49ers to join the Jets. Stephen A Smith asked Marshall on Kapernick possibly coming to the Jets.
“I don’t want Kaepernick”, said Marshall on First Take. “I think he’s good. My guy’s Fitz.”
Fitzpatrick had a career year, setting the single franchise record in touchdowns at 31. He knows Chan Gailey’s system since his Buffalo years and takes control of the offense. Kapernick may have the physical talent, playing in big games for his career. But that can be said the same for Geno Smith, who is underachieving. Marshall supports Fitzpatrick and so do the coaches. Chemistry is critical in a team success, which can dictate their chance of doing something special. The Jets need a few pieces away to be a Super Bowl contender and Kapernick is not part of that.
