Inspired by the 1954 film “On the Waterfront”, designer Stefan Miljanic looked to the moody, noir-ish lighting of the film and the stylish swagger of Marlon Brando’s dock worker to build his collection. Embodying the colors of the docks, with their use of industrial colored pieces like denim blues with touches of rust, red and orange Gilded Age‘s F/W2015 collection is timeless. Work wear-inspired elements like textured railroad stripes and oxford pants rounded out the collection and knitted outerwear seems to be Gilded Age‘s forte. Their pairing of chunky cashmere blend sweaters with printed plaid shirts in multiple textures gave the collection a little more of that refined yet rugged grit they’re known for. Outerwear played a large role in F/W 2015: lightly padded parkas, military-inspired Wool Melton pea-coats, plaid jackets and reversible bomber jackets were accessorized with double-face plaid scarves.
