In the fourth quarter tied at 24, Odell Beckham Jr. burned the secondary with an 84-yard touchdown thanks to a throw from Eli Manning, stealing the show in Miami.
The New York Giants are now in a three-way tie with the other NFC East teams beating the Miami Dolphins 31-24 on Monday Night Football.
It was something he saw when he watched film,” Beckham said according to the Associated Press. ”His mind is different. It’s special to be able to see something like that. It was something we hadn’t practiced and was completely on the fly.
It was a must win situation for the inconsistent Giants. After a tough loss against the New York Jets, they set their focus against a bad dysfunctional Dolphins team. Beckham Jr. knew this was like a playoff game for their hopes of making the postseason since 2011. Most of the credit should not only go to him but Manning as well.
Manning had arguably the best game of his career. He went 27 0f 31 for 337 yards and four touchdowns. He had his best passer rating at 151.5 since 2009 and completed 87 percent of his passes, the most for his career. Manning threw two touchdowns to Beckham Jr. and one to Will Tye and Ruben Randle.
”Guys were getting open quickly,” Manning said. ”We got everybody in the mix. That’s when we’re at our best.”
The offense for the Giants have scored 26 points a game, seventh in the league. But the defense is 24th in the league giving up 24.6 points. Regardless of the circumstances within the division, they need their offense to go perfect for any chance of making the playoffs.
This Sunday the Giants have a tough match-up at home against the undefeated Carolina Panthers.
