This time, if you can believe it, Trump has gone too far. Insinuating that Hillary Clinton be attacked by “Second Amendment people”? There is no place for hints at violence in the presidential race.
In case you missed it, Republican residential nominee Donald Trump spoke at a rally in North Carolina on Tuesday, and during his speech, he said something particularly hard to swallow. While talking about gun holders’ rights, he said “If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do, folks… Although maybe the Second Amendment people, maybe there is, I don’t know.” It is here that we see Donald Trump hinting that his followers could, or maybe even should shoot Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
Now, Trump has said a myriad of awful things about a whole lot of people: women, Muslims, Mexicans, etc. But this is really out there. Clinton’s campaign has responded to his remarks by saying that violence has no place in a presidential election, and we completely agree with her. It’s hard to ignore this remark. Trump’s half-witted attempt at damage control over this situation definitely didn’t help either.
Since this is so out there, we really don’t know what to say in regards to what to do next. Trump’s Republican supporters are trying to stage an intervention with the help of the Trump family, but we aren’t too sure if that’ll work. This election has created quite the monster of Donald Trump. Whether or not it can be tamed, we will just have to wait and see.
