A lot of people are buying tickets hoping to score the biggest jackpot in lottery history, but no one has it yet. The Powerball goes up to $1.5 billion for the Wednesday drawings. However different states profit from the Powerball madness.
In Maryland they have the fourth-largest contributor to the general fund such as public health, safety and education. In Iowa they support the veteran fund. Pennsylvania the money goes to the services of older residents. In Nebraska they have the lotto going to lake improvement, recycling projects and state fair facilities. They all use the money differently for certain goals within the state.
“I don’t want to speculate about how much Nebraska will benefit from the current jackpot run while it’s still going on,” says Neil Watson, a state government spokesman according to Yahoo News. “But I can say that in the past these types of large jackpot events have had a significant impact in the quarterly proceeds transfers to our beneficiary funds.”
The lottery made bring someone their dream goals into reality. They might do some crazy things and even invest in a business. These states and others have benefits from the lottery business on funds. It has already made history in these past few days. But the states will benefit it more in the future.
