In honor of Freddie Gray, Prince will play a concert in Baltimore with his band 3RDEYEGIRL said CBS.
In a spirit of healing, the event is meant to be a catalyst for pause and reflection following the outpouring of violence that has gripped Baltimore and areas throughout the U.S, said in a press release from Live Nation. As a symbolic message of out shared humanity and love for one another, attendees are invited to wear something gray in tribute to all those recently lost in the violence
Prince will be joined in Baltimore with the funk-rock group 3RDEYEDGIRL as well as having several unnamed industry superstars who’ve called in support of the event said CBS. The concert will be held at Baltimore’s Royal Farms Arena. Last week, reports surfaced that Prince created a tribute song titled “Baltimore” created as “a tribute to all people of the city of Baltimore” said a spokesperson to Billboard.
This isn’t the first time Prince has spoken out about the police and African-America lives. “Like books and black lives, albums matter” he said at the Grammy’s in February. Tickets have gone on sale since yesterday and a portion of the proceeds will go to local youth charities said Spin.
