Boston Celtics traded point guard Rajon Rondo to the Dallas Mavericks Thursday night; saying goodbye to their last NBA Champion remaining from the 2008 roster . The 4x NBA All-star will now play the back court alongside the dashing Monte Ellis while wearing the navy blue uniform.
The Celtics agreed to trade Rondo for Brandan Wright, Jae Crowder, Jameer Nelson and significant future draft picks; more specifically the 2015 1st round draft, 2016 2nd round draft as well as a $12.9 million trade exception.
Rondo had nothing but positive things to say about his departure from the Boston Celtics organization. Taking it to social media, Rondo tweets “I’ve grown up with this city both as a basketball player and person. The love I have for the most loyal and supportive fans in the league is unmatched”.
The Dallas Mavericks stand at the 6th seed with a 19-8 record overall. As they prepare to face off Tim Duncan and the San Antonio spurs the new addition to their roster will make his debut Saturday Night.
