An exhibition called “Reigning Men”, celebrates years of men’s fashion, starting with year 1715 and ending with 2015. It shows how men’s fashion evolved during the years and even embodies what many would say is “feminine” for what is considered in today’s world.
Throughout this exhibition, you can see what inspires high and men’s fashion today. It includes at least 200 looks that blow away things that changed, yet have not changed at the same time.
According to LACMA’s explanation of what it’s all about, “Reigning Men makes illuminating connections between history and high fashion. The exhibition traces cultural influences over the centuries, examines how elements of the uniform have profoundly shaped fashionable dress, and reveals how cinching and padding the body was, and is, not exclusive to women.”
The LACMA is the one holding this special event. If you’re around the Los Angeles area, be sure to check it out. The exhibition is available for a short period of time since it opened on April 10. It will close on August 21, so make sure you go see it before it’s gone!
The tickets are free, which inspires others to experience the fashion exhibit.
