The Seattle Seahawks with the weather against them won 10-9 in a cold, cold game against the Minnesota Vikings.
It was a classic game on the third coldest game in NFL history. Seattle came into the game as one of the hotter teams in the league. They blew out the Vikings back on Dec 6 38-7. However this was a different game due to the weather. On offense they had problems with their headsets. The offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell’s had his headset going in and out. Russell Wilson made adjustments on the field despite the circumstances.
“Bev hung in there with me,” Wilson said according to the SeattleTimes. “I could hear bits and pieces of the play. You hear the formation or protection or route or whatever it may be, so you just try to put the two together.”
They hung in there and took advantage of an Adrian Peterson fumble giving them the lead thanks to a field goal made by Steven Hauschka. Then a few possessions later, the Vikings were in position to win the game and advance to the divisional round. Vikings kicker Blair Walsh, who made all his kicks this was ready to seal it, but missed it on a 27 yard field goal attempt. A lot of bad luck for the Vikings in the postseason and luck for the Seahawks.
“Crazy things happen in the playoffs,” said Wilson according to Yahoo News. “It was an ugly game, we didn’t play very well on offense and that’s on me. I take the blame for that we’ve got to be better. But we won, we kept battling. That is the great thing about it, you have to keep battling in the playoffs, you have to keep battling every opportunity you’ve got.”
Seattle goes to Carolina for the divisional round. They set their eyes on a Panthers they loss to at home and hope it is once step closer to their third straight Super Bowl.
