TNT analyst Shaquille O’Neil, one of the most dominated big men in NBA history, taking orders from his mother in ending the feud with Golden State Warriors’ center JaVale McGee.
“Just say Shaq’s mom called him, told him, ‘Stop this silliness. Leave him alone.’ So that’s the end of the beef,” O’Neal told The Undefeated according to the New York Post. “You won’t be hearing about it from my side anymore. Mama has spoken.”
This feud started during Thursday night’s weekly “Shaqtin’ The Fool” segment on Inside The NBA when McGee was part of it. They went back and forth on Twitter, which made huge headlines. It became so personal that Kevin Durant stood up for his teammate and said O’Neil has no skills.
O’Neil was more power than finesse in his career, but don’t take away his four NBA championships. He’s credible to criticize McGee and his play as a backup center for the Warriors. NBA players shouldn’t be sensitive to how old school individuals feel about today’s stars. They need to grow up and take it like a man cause sometimes it can just be the proper medicine in living up to their expectations.
O’Neil will stop making fun of McGee and his play listening to Mama O’Neil. But it won’t stop him from going after other players that make dumb decisions during the game.
