The bearded Maybach Music artist let Bleu’s De’Von Christopher in on everything from fashion to family in an interview at Atlantic Records. Stalley, an Ohio native, is one of Maybach Music’s biggest players and with supports from Rick Ross and Omarion, there’s no doubt you’ll be hearing more from him. Check out the video above and find out what he has to say about his style, his music, and his daughter.
On his style:
“I would say my look is more of the everyday man. The worker wear, Americana look. Denims, nice button-up, some nice sneakers. I’m a big fan of RRL; Ralphie do his thing, especially with RRL…I’m really into materials and quality and just comfort overall. That clothing not only fits my aesthetic but my comfortability over all.”
On his music inspiration:
“’Coups and Roses’ was inspired by childhood, growing up. I was like that 14 year old kid that hung around 24-26 year olds. I was always with the OGs, always riding around with them. If I wasn’t riding around them, I was just sitting on the porch, soaking up game, learning as much as I could. And I feel like that’s what I was doing with that music, relaying those stories I grew up listening to.”
On his track “Paris (feat. Omarion & Rocky Fresh)”:
“I have song called Paris on there with Omarion and Rocky Fresh, a song that I’ve had for awhile. Soundtrack produced it, I gave it to Ross, Ross threw Omarion on. I had a hook on from my homie Dre, he’s from Detroit. He already had the hook down, but Omarion re-did it. Rocky Fresh threw a verse on it, and we made it real Mayback Music”
On his daughter:
It’s hard. Everytime I leave my daughter it’s hard. She’s getting more and more mature now, and she’s realizing and understanding what I’m doing. She’s always saying ‘Daddy’s at work’ or ‘He’s going to work’. She’s understanding that what I do takes a long time. I can be away for a long time. It’s long hours in the studio and stuff like that..
