Warriors Superstar and MVP Stephen Curry won best male athlete at the 2015 ESPYS according to Yahoo Sports.
The warriors guard had a great year at age 27. He beat out James Harden, Lebron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook to win the MVP for the first time in his career. He accomplished one of the best regular seasons in NBA History going 67-15 and winning the championship. Curry also broke the most three pointers made in the season and playoffs. His daughter Riley took the spotlight away from him in her appearances on stage during the playoffs.
His accomplishments can be taken away of hard work, dedication, motivation and consistency. Nobody thought he can win MVP and be one of the best players in the world. He may go down as the best shooter of all time and he still has many years to go.
“You know, I never imagined myself standing on this stage holding this award,” Curry said after thanking his family — headlined by wife Ayesha, who stayed home to take care of five-day-old daughter Ryan — and his teammates on the NBA champion Warriors. “I’m 6-foot-3, 180 pounds soaking wet. It’s really nice to be called an athlete once in a while. Thank you very much.”
