GUNPLAY’s DEBUT ALBUM LIVING LEGEND STREAMING NOW! ARRIVES JULY 31st ON MAYBACH MUSIC GROUP (MMG) / DEF JAM RECORDINGS

(July 27, 2015 – New York, NY)  Just a few short days before the release of his debut album LIVING LEGEND out July 31, Maybach Music Group (MMG)/Def Jam Recording artist GUNPLAY is now pre-streaming the entire album on VEVO.

“Wuzhanindoe” featuring fellow Def Jam label-mate YG, produced by DJ Mustard, was issued earlier as the first official single from LIVING LEGEND.  The track garnered significant attention for Gunplay’s hard-hitting beats and blistering rhymes, which Complex proclaimed as a “sure fire party song that will be perfect for the summer.”  Gunplay also released Be Like Me” featuring Rick Ross that Stereogum praised for Gunplay’s “usual insanity and aggression” as well as the track “Blood on the Dope” featuring Yo Gotti and PJK.

Gunplay arrives as a 10-year veteran of the Triple C’s (homage to Carol City, his native Miami neighborhood), the hip-hop collective formed in 2005 by Def Jam / Maybach Music Group (MMG) superstar Rick Ross.  In addition to Gunplay’s work on Triple C’s Def Jam debut album of 2009, Custom Cars & Cycles, he released no less than nine mixtapes via MMG, between 2008 and last year.  Of these, 2012’s 601 & Snort: Freestyle Highdayz Vol. 1 was named one of the Best Albums Of the Year by SPIN; while 2013’s Cops & Robbers and Acquitted were also widely praised.

Gunplay has also made appearances on Maybach Music Group’s annual series of multi-artist compilation albums, including 2011’s Self Made, Vol. 1; 2012’s Self Made, Vol. 2; and 2013’s Self Made, Vol. 3.

Gunplay made a high profile appearance in 2009, on the eponymous “Gunplay,” a standout track from Deeper Than Rap, the third album by Rick Ross.  Since then, Gunplay has been a go-to collaborator on more than 50 singles and album tracks by the “Who’s Who” of hip-hop including Kendrick Lamar, A$AP Rocky, Lil Wayne, and many more.
