In the style of the villains of the Suicide Squad, a user on Reddit has leaked a song from the soundtrack of the soon-to-be-released movie, which has led to Atlantic Records to push up the track’s release date. According to TMZ, this unfortunately lead to lost revenue, since the song, Twenty-One Pilots’ “Heathens”, wasn’t supposed to drop for another week. Reports state that the song was only given to a small group of select individuals (i.e. the band and label executives), so who knows how the song landed in this Reddit user’s hands. Therefore, Atlantic Records is asking for the courts to issue a subpoena for Reddit so that they may be able to investigate who leaked “Heathens” and bring them to justice.
The rest of the Suicide Squad soundtrack hosts a well-rounded cast of artists, including Twenty-One Pilots, Rick Ross, Skrillex, Wiz Khalifa, and Lil Wayne; this all promises a soundtrack that will provide for an extremely entertaining movie. We just have to patient and wait for the full album’s release (looking at you, Reddit).
