Hot 97’s Summer Jam, the largest hip-hop festival on the planet, pull out another solid show at Metlife Stadium, delivering old-school hip-hop surprises, a tribute to Biggie and special guests such as DMX and Meek Mill being in attendance.
DJ Khaled, Migos, Chris Brown, Remy Ma and Fat Joe were among the lead artists that were part of the festival. The other guests that were part of Summer Jam included Queen Latifah, The Low w/Jadakiss, Lil Kim, Fetty Wap, Doug E. Fetish and Total. And lets not forget the upcoming rappers such as Joey BadA$$ and Designer. Overall it really didn’t have the all star lineup compared to previous ones.
Yes they did a Biggie tribute with ex-wife and Jersey native Faith Evans with the Bad Boy family. But Diddy didn’t show up, which was surprising for the audience. However, Remy Ma perform “Shether” on stage with no Nicki Minji in sight. But still there was no drama or police arrests like last year. It provided the exact vibe and environment that hip-hop fans wanted to see.
