Make Waves is a creative and wellness workshop started by working creative professionals living in the city, and realizing even freelancers needed to make time to continue to learn, as well as take care of their bodies. The latter point is one of the things that sets Make Waves Workshop apart from other creative panels we’ve seen popping up all over our creative communities. Make Waves Workshop combines hands on creative experiences in different mediums, with this second Make Waves Workshop session featuring an intro to screen printing, taught by Kid Super Studio and powered by Artsy Magazine, with whole-body workouts designed to ensure physical wellness. This time around, the wellness portion of Make Waves Workshop was a group effort with yours truly, powered by Bleu Magazine, and taught by Percell of #GOODWRK.
Walking into general assembly that afternoon, there was a quiet buzz throughout the room. Presenters were off to the sides, reading over points they wanted to hit during the panel discussion, and everyone else was either diligently working behind the scenes, or sampling the offerings from a few of the food & drink sponsors.
The workshop was broken up into three parts, the morning session (which was by appointment only) was an intro to silk screen printing, and an intro into designing prints for garments, lead by DespiertaNYC.
