This Year’s NBA Draft Will Have Different Rules Compared To Last Year

nba-draft-2016

Expect changes to happen in this year’s 2016 NBA Draft. There are a total of 162 total entries, 45 of them are international players. The international players have until June 13th to decide whether they will be part of the draft. Here are a couple of changes for the draft according to Fansided.

  • College players now have until 10 days after the completion of the NBA Combine to remove their name from the 2016 NBA draft, while still keeping their college eligibility – as long as they haven’t hired an agent. This season the deadline is May 25th.
  • College players can now declare for the NBA draft as many times as they would like. As long as they never hire an agent, they are able to return to college each time (assuming they meet the deadline). Previously a player declaring twice would lose eligibility to return.

Tune into the draft Thursday, June 23rd at 7 pm on ESPN. Check your local listings as the Barclays Center gets the spotlight, despite no draft picks for both New York teams.
