Three Winners Won The $1.5 Billion Powerball Jackpot And Will Split In Three Ways.
Three people out of everyone playing the Powerball Jackpot won $1.5 billion dolllars and will split in three ways.
The winning numbers were 04, 08, 19, 27, and 34. The Powerball was 10, which was shown already in one of the early numbers of the jackpot. Everyone had a 1 in 292 million chance to win, but three lucky winners won it in states where there is no federal tax involved. They are Chino Hills, California; Munford, Tennessee; and in Melbourne Beach, Florida. A 7-Eleven franchise owner Balbir Atwal sold the winning ticket and said it was very exciting.
“I didn’t expect this big crowd but my Chino Hills customers love me, and I love them,” he said. Atwal, who has owned the store for 24 years, will receive a $1 million bonus for selling the winning ticket according to CNN Money.
The Powerball players spent nearly $2.6 billion on tickets. Although they don’t have to pay state taxes, they only need to pay 39.6 percent of federal taxes.
The next Powerball on Saturday is scheduled for a jackpot of $40 million dollars.
