Thunder Star Kevin Durant May Miss The Rest Of The Season

The Thunder can’t seem to catch a break as the reigning MVP Kevin Durant may miss the rest of the season due to soreness in his surgically repaired right foot.

The news came off from Oklahoma City Thunder General Manager Sam Presti in a press conference. Sam Amick of USA Today Sports reported Presti talking about his return in question before the season ends.

I think the most important thing is to say that he’s not going to be playing right now, Presti told reporters at the team’s practice facility. “When he’s healthy to play, and when he’s able to return without that soreness, he’ll be back on the floor. If that takes the rest of the regular season, if that takes the rest of the playoffs, that’s what it’s going to take. As I said before, the health and wellness of our players is the most important thing.

The Thunder’s future in doubt after the news about Durant. They are currently the 8th seed in the West with one game over the New Orleans Pelicans. Russell Westbrook is doing what he can with the other players on the team to make the playoffs. The loss of Serge Ibaka due to knee surgery also affects their chance of doing any damage in the West.

But Presti made it clear that as long as their is soreness in his right foot, he may never be back on the court with the team.

Unless he’s able to be back on the floor without soreness, he won’t be back on the floor.
