“You need to see the clothes, but you also want to feel like you’re there,” said designer-and-filmmaker Tom Ford according to Bang ShowBiz. “There’s no emcee — there was going to be an emcee but he wasn’t available. There’s a red carpet, a short one, paparazzi and intrigue. There’s even a 10 minute arrival show that goes right before.”
For the audience watching the New York Fashion Show online, Ford wants them to be part of the experience
His show is the Fall 2016 collection of garments, which will be available as soon as possible. Ford also said after the runaway show goes off, those on their computers can back to the outfit, and buy it 24 hours later at their own house.
Still it took nearly 22 cameras to make the show spectacular and engaging. Other designers might copy his approach, showcasing their current collection to the public. And others will present their spring 2017 collection. But by the end of fashion week, which ever works best for more viewers, will be the common theme for years to come.
