Under Armour is growing each day and it continues to have an impact in all sports. There are three athletes who are making strides in their sport and on the brand. They are Patriots’ quarterback Tom Brady, Warriors’ point guard Stephen Curry and Panthers quarterback Cam Newton, all of which are undefeated at this point.
Brady is a having a phenomenal season throwing 25 touchdowns for 3,320 yards and is becoming a clear cut favorite for the MVP. He is undefeated with the Patriots as well at 10-0. He signed with Under Armour in 2010. The company is selling out with the No. 199 shirt to fans, a number that motivates Brady everyday since he was picked by the Pats in the seventh round. No one expect him to be one of the greatest quarterbacks at that pick, but he grew on that and continues his success with Under Armour as well.
Newton on the other hand is making the company go up to new heights due to his play. Newton like Brady is also undefeated with the Panthers. He’s throwing 20 touchdowns for 2,283 yards thus far. Newton signed with the company when he first got into the league. He wears his Under Armour cleats on game days and even socks customize by himself. His play into being a MVP candidate can only help his confidence and the company.
Curry’s popular and coming out of an MVP season marks the growth of Under Armour to another level. When he came into the league as the skinny point guard with no potential, he proved doubters wrong. Curry in the NBA season is undefeated at 15-0 with the Warriors. He is averaging 32.7 points, 5.2 rebounds and 5.7 assists. He has a chip on his shoulder to prove the doubters wrong with his play and confidence. Curry is also selling out his shoes to basketball fans and experiencing the secret to his durability on the court. He is signed with Under Armour for the rest of his career.
All of these athletes are hard workers who strive to be the best they can be. Now only do they believe in being the underdog playing their sport, they are part of Under Armour, which is also underdog to other successful companies like Nike and Adidas.
